Since the liberalization of the telecommunication sector in 1994, Zambia has witnessed significant growth in the ICT sector. Overfishing reduced fishcatches and threataned income of fishermen in the seventies in Apo-island the Philpines. Desctructibe methods destroyed part of the corals. The community decided to create a no-take marine sanctuary on 10% of its coral-reef fishing grounds which increased the numner and types of fish and enhanced tourism that provode addional income.
